Best Practices in Data Modeling
The QlikView platform represents a revolutionary way of storing data for analysis. While it shares characteristics with the Relational Database model in some cases, it also offers a marked departure in others. Join us as we discuss which of the old rules still apply and where “New Rules” are appropriate. Topics covered will be relational vs. dimensional modeling, star schemas, conformed dimensions, slowly changing dimensions, avoiding circular references, link tables, and using QVDs as a data warehouse.
Audience: Anyone interested in creating powerful QlikView applications whose underlying data schema allows robust and flexible analysis. Knowledgeable SQL developers who would like to understand the differences and similarities of QlikView vs. standard relational data storage.
